May 11th......

It's hard to believe Dad would be 63. Every year on Dad's Birthday we try to go to a baseball game, eat hot dogs and visit. We always have a great time! This year we couldn't all be together but still celebrated the same.

Also, it wouldn't be a true Dad's Day without some work and swearing. Nona and I got up early, both lucky to get the day off and began work on are always shabby backyard. Although in the last few years if you saw it from beginning to end there has been a dramatic change (thanks to BVT2 and kids) and we're still workin!
We have lots of crazy over grown pyracantha and rose bushes, we started hacking and trimming but it took quite a while to even make a dent. This is where the swearing comes in......
About eleven or twelve years ago, on a similar project, Dad, Betsy, Katie and I were trimming bushes and a cherry tree. Dad has a shed he built out with electricity and everything. So, before we were allowed to begin work we needed a lesson in how not to cut the electric wiring he had running from the house to the shed. Which Dad started by saying 'be very careful and you have to avoid cutting the wires or you might get shocked', and 'see do it just like this.....'. Suddenly Dad got zapped when he clipped both wires. Then a few swear words later and a look at the clippers that now had a little charred hole in them, we couldn't help but laugh at him and bug him about it the rest of the day. He even thought it was pretty funny.
Anyway, so while Mom and I are working she decided to run inside for drinks and I was still outside with the electric bush trimmer. I suddenly see wires whip passed my face and immediately tangle up in the trimmer. Scared for my life I drop the trimmer, now attached to the wires. Needless to say, being my father's daughter I also said a few words. There was no shock but backing up slowly I look to see where the wires are attached, lo and behold the very wires that used to run electricity to the shed. Luckily for me Dad had clipped them a few years earlier.

Movies, movies and more movies

What can I say, I was reading Kali's blog and she inspired me. Colby and I were definately ment to be, in many ways but the one people seem to notice and mention most is our rediculious need to watch as many movies (and tv series) as possible. So here are some of our favorite movie quotes......

Barbie's Top 10:

-"What? No! That's not how we wing it! You've lost your 'winging it' privileges!"
*Roy O'Bannon, Shanghai Noon*

-"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." *Ferris, Ferris Bueller's Day Off*

-"I'm your Huckleberry"
*Doc Holliday, Tombstone*

-'No, you said "wet shirt don't break," not "piss shirt bend bar"!'
*Roy O'Bannon, Shanghai Noon*

-".....I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. "
*Harry Burns, When Harry Met Sally*

-"Who knows where thoughts come from? They just appear. Uh huh"
*Lucas, Empire Records*

-"Lou. Give me a milk... [dramatic pause] ....Chocolate"
*George McFly, Back to the Future*

-"Of course I did. been planning it for years"
*Michael 'Squints' Palledorous, The Sandlot*

-"I'm not gonna let you cheapen this for me."
*Roy O'bannon, Shanghai Noon*

-"Ok. This is a bass guitar. And it's the exact same thing but instead of playing it like this you tip it on the side... cello, you got a bass."
*Dewey Finn, School of Rock*

Colby's Top 5 :* please note these are my appropriate favorite movie quotes*

-"To quote the great late kernal sanders: im to drunk to taste this chicken!"
*Ricky Bobby, Talledega Nights*

- "What? One name? ONE NAME? Who are you? Seal?"
*Evan, Superbad*

-"Yo, Rugman! Haven't seen you in a few millennia. Give me some tassel. "
* Genie, Aladdin*

-"Its hard to look inside myself, but on the outside i look good."
*Link Larkin, Hairspray*

-"He broke-ded my nose"
*Switowski, Longest Yard*

Jazz Game

Brooke invited us to go along with her and Shan to the Jazz game, it was awesome. They were really great seats in the 11th row behind the Jazz bench. We went to Dinner at 'The Grub' and then on down town for the game. It was pretty close towards the end. I think we all really enjoyed but watching Colby, he was like a kid in a candy store. Here are a few pictures he took......

Honeymoon, Vegas... baby!

Colby and I spent our wedding night at the Marriott Spring Hill hotel, it was really nice and some of my friends went out to check us in and decorate. All though the next morning we had to get up at 7am to make our flight on time to Vegas. Once we arrived in Vegas we went to the hotel pre-checked in and lounged around in the lazy river and hot tub. Later we shuttled down to 'The Strip' ate, wandered around and gambled a little. Monday we went to the Tournament of Kings and had a caricature drawn of the two of us. Most of Tuesday was spend walking around and people watching. We finally made it home Tuesday night to our clean new house (Thanks to VTs, Mom, Kits and Shan). Married life is great and finally getting back to our normal routine. (Wedding pictures and Blog are soon to come)

Man Shower and Bachlorette Party

My sweet friends Brooke Shannon and Krista decided to throw me a Bachelorette party at a condo in Park city, with presents, Cafe Rio, chatting and tons of fun! We stayed up way to late hot tubbing, visiting and telling stories. It was super fun. Thanks girls! The same awesome friends had a 'Man Shower' for Colby the night before, also in Park City. We played some Wii games, Rock Band, went to dinner and even presents, just the kind of party Colby enjoys. These girls sure know us, thanks yet again!

Pre-Wedding

We were lucky enough to get to have Mom in town a few weeks before the wedding. Then about a week before Ben Betsy and the kids came into town. It was a regular party, I pretty much had almost everything ready by they time they got here. So we all mostly spent our time, they way I like it, hanging out visiting eating and playing games.
