Everything I never knew, I always wanted

My life has been a bit crazy lately. As of August I got a new FULL TIME job at Vault Denim, thanks to my sweet Aunt Jill. It has been quite a bit of work but definitely has its perks! I work with some of the nicest, funny and enjoyable people. I have been lucky enough in my short time there move from working in the warehouse to accounting where I am Jill's assistant (another perk!).
I never could have imagined how my life would be on the verge of turning 27. I just feel so lucky how my life has turned out so far. The best husband, a wonderful job, a warm comfortable home (near my Mom), awesome friends and family and many other blessings.

Then.......

and now!

Not Lookin' My Best

I woke up this morning feeling a little itchy, to my surprise when I looked in the mirror I didn't quite recognize my self. What I saw was more like 'Craterface', as less like normal Barbie. For those of you that have not seen Grease I have added both his and my picture. Not too cute.....

Needless to say today has been awfully uncomfortable. Although, I don't know if the is a good thing but I'm sadly use to skin problems. . . . so on the brighter side I know it could always be worse. So I guess I'm feelin pretty lucky (and a little itchy)!

Birthday Boy

Colby turned 26 on the 16th of October. He had a pretty relaxed birthday, with a few decorations, watching football with friends, a Halloween costume party, a thoughtful cupcake and some cheesecake. I love you so much honey and am so glad you were born and I get to have you in my life everyday! As my family would say 'love you high as the sky, deep as the ocean, long as the telephone wire'.

Sweet Baby Nate

Ben and Betsy had their fourth sweet kid on September 8th. Shannon and I were able to make the trip out to Virginia to see him on the 16th. He is so cute and hardly ever cries or fusses. I think being the fourth he already is very go with the flow. We spent more of our trip just hanging out, holding Nathan, going to school lunch with Michael and Emma, playing St.Petersburg and being entertained by Sarah. We talked a lot about what kind or personality Nate will have, I think the four of us have done this since Michael was born. The other three are already so different, it will be interesting to see where he'll fit in.

Painting Project

We have been cleaning out the shed in our backyard and planning on tearing it down. But with the kids in town I thought it might be fun to let them paint it. I used some spare white paint to freshen it up for fun painting. This was the result.....

William Thacker's Door

Griffis' Door

I painted both Mom's and my door BLUE. I love it, even though a lot of people have nicely said 'wow that's really blue'. After I finished it reminded me of Hugh Grant's house in Notting Hill. Anyway, I love love love my new door!

Shan- Shanny- Shannon- Sha- Shannyo

No matter what you call her she's awesome, I know several people that agree. I've know Shan now for about fourteen years, enough time to know she's the best friend you can have. I decided to pay a little blog tribute to her.

She is so sweet, funny and very talented. I look up to her more then she knows! She's brave and artistic, which is shown by her successful business (Juniper and Co.). Also she is by far one of the smartest and funniest people I have ever met. I could spend hours just listening to her witty jokes and hilarious honk. Anyone that get the chance to have her in their life is truly bless. Love you Shannyo

Ben and Betsy

I love these two so much, they are the sweetest guys ever! Colby and I were lucky enough to go visit for Easter and the following week. I also go the pleasure to stay an extra week and tend their three sweet kids while they went to Mexico. I say pleasure because that's what it truly was. I love those kids so much and we had a great time! Just to name a few things we did....... basketball, making the cherry trees snow, Phineas and Ferb, ice cream man, Build-a-lot, The OG, swimming in the tub, Five and Below, and snacks. I had such a blast in Virginia! I've been so lucky and grateful to be able to spend so much time with my nieces and nephew, not to mention it's the best compliment that Ben and Betsy trust me with their most special guys! Love all you guys

One year down already

It's official we have been married a year! We celebrated by going to get massages at UCMT, it felt awesome!!!!!! We also exchanged gifts, I like the idea of getting gifts according to the traditional anniversary gift list, first anniversary being paper. So I made a scrap book for Colby of all the picture of him as a baby until now that I could round up. Colby secretly and sweetly listened as I mentioned months ago that Van Gogh was my favorite artist and I always wanted a big Starry Night picture. Along with a little help from Mom, he found a huge poster of it and had it framed. I love it!!!!! Also today we went with Mom and Katie and had our anniversary dinner at TGIFriday's, one of our favorites. We had a great time and can't wait for year number two!

The Stache

Colby usually goes with the clean shaven, baby face look or a little scruff. Although while we were chatting the other day I said there was no way he could stand to keep his facial hair, especially grow a mustache in three weeks. So Colby confident he could and I being the betting gal that I am, it started. If I won, a chocolate ice cream cone from Arctic Circle anytime I request and if Colby won a number one from Wienerschnitzel anytime he wanted. As of yesterday it had been three weeks, so he shaved everything but the stache. I guess Colby is the official winner and I have a hot dog run sometime in the near future but it was worth the jokes I got to make all Saturday until he shaved it this afternoon.
Pretty silly but I still think he's quite handsome!

To Sarah, Love Rogue

Miss you Sar-Bear! Can't wait to see you this summer. I'm taking really good care of Poley Poley.

Betsy, Sweet Betsy

I am so lucky to be able to not only know Betsy but to have her as a sister. I always joke with her and tell her it's hard to have her as a sister, seriously though...... it's true. There is no way I could live to be half the person she is. I don't know how someone can be so brilliant, sweet, beautiful, smart and darn near perfect!

She's taught me a lot and has been a really great sister and second mom. It's hard for me to have her to be all the way in Virginia but somehow she makes it seem like she not so far away.I am so proud of her she has done everything in her life with such grace. Her wonderful choice in a husband (I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to have been as a brother and friend), her brilliance, her beautiful children and her passion for helping people. She truly is one of the people I admire the most! (Bets- it's hard to have a gifted sister)

Something that I think describes Betsy the most is a song that says,
'And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm'

It's truly a blessing to know Betsy

The Horror

Crazy Colby every Saturday gets up even earlier the he usually does for work and goes the West Valley basketball then back to our ward for 'church ball'. I guess he really likes the people and basketball, because he is definitely not a morning person. I'm still shocked every Saturday when he's gone when I get up. This has been his routine for sometime now and he hopes he won't miss next week. However last Saturday this is what happened........

I always say he can do what he wants..... So he's gone to work and as well as he can been walking on it. Although I still have my doubts for Saturday morning basketball!
