Low key Birthday...... just my style

On December 27th I turned 26, I am officially on my way passed mid twenties and on my next Birthday I will begin my late twenties, EEK! I know I'm not technically old but it's just surprising, how did I get here? I seem to anticipate my birthdays less but I have only had 26 and even less that I remember. Getting older is just interesting, to say the least. I can tell I'm getting older but I really like it! It's nice to go to bed early, wake up early and enjoy learning. I only wish I'd discovered it sooner. Anyway... I had a wonderful birthday with my family and spent the entire day at home playing games, all sorts. This year I received a wonderful gift, a MacBook. At 26 it's my first computer, I love it. Thanks again you guys, Love you!!!!!!

Tradition, tradition! Tradition!

We've been lucky to have our whole family together again for the holidays! Betsy and I love to joke it's our favorite time of year because people don't have excuses of other things to do, so they have to play with us. It really is the funnest time, we spend lots of time playing games, chatting, eating, laughing and my favorite, rarely leaving the house.
We have a newer family tradition where we bowl and play in the arcade at Fat Cats on Christmas Eve. It's been a lot of fun!!! Another thing we all do is get matching Christmas shirts and where them all of Christmas Eve. This year we couldn't find any that fit us all. So, I took on the task of making them. A bit harder then I thought but I think they turned out well.

Krista's 26th Birthday

Our sweet Krista Fantin came into town for her Birthday (December 22), we celebrated by having our traditional High school friend/ Birthday party. We ordered and ate Chinese as well as most people brought a treat or two to share. Including a extra fancy Birthday cake made by Shannon and Lauren. The same party routine as always..... eat, visit, eat more and visit more. We always seem to have loads to talk about, it was so much fun. We followed up the next morning by most of us going to breakfast at Blue Plate. More eating and more visiting. I can't believe I'm so lucky to have such great friends that are still close!

My project

I found my Mom's favorite old rocking chair, which she was give by my Grandpa. It was a very sentimental piece of furniture for my Mom. It had been through a lot, my Mom and Dad both used it to rock Katie, Betsy and I to sleep when we were younger. A few years ago we decided to get it fixed but never got around to it since it was during our house remodel. When I saw it a month or so ago I decided it would be the perfect project. It was my first novice try at refinishing, repairing and reupholstering furniture. There are a few flaws but over all I think it turned out well.

All Hallows Eve

This year Colby and I decided to dress as our favorite arch nemesis from Dr.Horrible's Sing Along Blog. We were surprised how few people knew who we were, although it is kind of a nerdy thing to know. I thought our costumes were pretty right on .... but you tell me......

We also carved pumpkins at Colby's friends traditional yearly Halloween party.

Colby once told me it was the stupidest thing in the world to dress your pets up (namely dogs) which I agree. However he was very strict about this. So, of course Mom and I couldn't resist......

Happily married for 6 months now

Colby and I have been officially married for six months as of September 14th. It has been really fun, it's nice to always have someone to hang out with, tell stupid stories to and just be silly with. Which is definitely something we do a lot!!! For our anniversary we both had work but only until about two thirty, so we decided to go get some ice cream. Shortly there after Colby started feeling a little sick. He had a very stuffy nose. Mom being our live in nurse suggested Colby use something called a Nedi Pot. For those of you that watch The Office might be familiar with Dwight wanting to use Pam's teapot as one. For the rest of you here is a picture......

After Colby said it really cleared out his sinuses....... and then he began throwing up. I guess he already wasn't feeling well and when a little of the mixture went down his throat, it was all over. He spent the rest of the night getting continuously sicker.

After day three of being quarantined in the spare bedroom he began to feel better and is now back to normal. I guess this is what married life is all about, being together and loving each other in sickness and in health.

And as Sarah would say 'I like that Colby, he's a nice boy!' Love you Honeyo!

Phineas, Ferb and Virginia

I was lucky enough to go to Virginia for two weeks and take care of the sweetest kids in the world, for the sweetest couple in the world.........
We had a blast! We did pretty much everything there was to do. I sure love those kids and it was definitely more of a blessing then a job to tend them!!!! They are so easy going, sweet, but maybe a little too sassy. I had the pleasure of being teased continuously by Michael about one incident when I got us lost for twenty minutes or so. Also about accidentally throwing a plate out the car window. He is growing up so fast and has a awesome sense of humor!!!!! He is one of the smartest people I know, he finds something he loves and finds everything out about it and is happy to help teach anyone, especially his sisters (who he is so patient with). I sure love MY Bean!!!!!!
Oh Emma, she is so beautiful!!!!! Physically and more importantly her sweet sweet heart! I've rarely seen someone so concerned about everyones feelings. Her artistic skills are amazing and she love to teach Sarah to craft at any opportunity. She is such a little helper and I definitely know where she inherited these qualities, here sweet Mom! I <3>

Sar-Bears, what can I say about her???? She is a true comedian! Not even three years old yet and she has most adults rolling around on the floor. She's a great joke teller but even more so is her unbelievable sense of humor! She thinks of her very own jokes (that make sense and are very funny), realizes the smallest joke in shows or adult conversations. She is one stubborn girl, which most people who know me might think Sarah and I have that in common. But there is no one like Sars and I love her for it!!!!!

Unicycle

One boring afternoon Colby and I found Mom's old unicycle. We pumped up the tire and it seemed to be fine, so Colby gave it a try............

On a hot summer day...........

Where you gonna go?????? 7 Peaks!!!!!!!! On Tuesday the 14th of July we had a small Anderson get together and had a blast at the water park. We spent all day visiting, eating and riding the slides.
Nona and Robin having more fun then the kids on the Flusher and the Half Pipe Colby and I visiting Grandma Mary back at the Cabana
Krissy and Marcus on the double tube Colby on my second attempt at getting this cool picture One of the last rides of the day, Colby, Krissy and I on the Hot Shot

Bowling at the Ritz

Our awesome BF's, Val, Mark and Dontch invited us to go bowling. It was super fun! It was our usual crowd Shan, Jar-Bear, Gardners, Colby and I. I definitely think Layla had the best time, sharing turns and her version or score keeping. She was actually pretty good but sadly her and I lost to the boys. After we went to Val's and played old school Nintendo Tetris, where there was a bit of a fight of who was actually the best at it. Which was followed by the boys playing NBA Basketball and the girls karaoking to Michael Jackson. All in all when we play with this crowd it's a super fun time!

A sly Rogue is often in good dress

Colby and I took the leap........ and got a puppy. We found our 3 month old puppy on KSL and picked her up on July 1st. On the way to get her we decided on a name, Rogue. It has seemed to end up fitting her better then we imagined. She is extreamly sweet, playful and really likes to cuddle. Although we have come to find out she is majorly tricky and excites easily.

Colby has had dogs most of his life and has been talking me into it pretty much since we met. He finally convinced me about a week before we got her. I love her way more then I thought I would! She's super funny and so nice. I love to come home and have her so excited to see me. But even cuter is Colby's face when he's playin with her, he really loves his dog! Rogue, after only having her two days, she toughed out the trip to Bear Lake. She love exploring, running around and even the heard of kids that followed. Just like a true Bear Laker once we arrived home she needed a few days rest and is now getting into a good routine.

Beauty and the Geek.......

Since school at Highland ended Colby has been working on finding a new job. Which has been kind of rough but he is diligent! The best thing is he's home a lot to hang out. Today we decided to sleep in, since I didn't have work and then go to an early movie. We saw TRANSFORMERS: Revenge of the Fallen, we had been looking forward to seeing it since we saw the first one and we are pretty nerdy about our movies. We knew we couldn't stay up when it came out last night at midnight but we are still pretty geeky and so excited to see it first thing this mornin. We both loved it, the first movie always is better (at least I think so) but it was still really good!!!!

We spent most of the rest of the day at home not doing much. We watched our usual shows, ate popcorn and played on facebook. After all that sitting around I had an idea........ I told Colby I was going to give myself a facial and suggested I could give him one too. Nicely he thought about it and said sure as long as I told no one (oops!). I applied my mask first then began on his he was shocked it was so cold but said it didn't seem too bad. After a while I said lets take a picture and I'll blog it. He said definitely not but then changed his mind (because he pretty much is embarrassed by nothing). So we took this bee-u-tiful picture and as Sars would say 'I like that Colby-o, he's a nice boy!'

Colby disappeared...........

A perk of working at Kingsbury Hall, we get to go to a few shows. This weekend (Saturday, May 16th) was David Copperfield. We decided to go after my shift at nine o'clock. The show was awesome, loved every second of it! Our seats were really good and Colby was hoping he'd get called on but it was right at the end of the show, so we were doubting it. But then, Copperfield began throwing balls into the audience and we bounced them around and when the music stopped, if you had one to got to go on stage. Of course, Colby being lucky like he is caught one and got called onto the stage for the finale. Copperfield put Colby and nine other audience members into a hanging box with chairs and flashlights, covered them up and made them disappear. Suddenly, seconds later they reappeared at the back of the theatre. Colby was so excited to be a part of a magic trick and a really cool one at that! He was also lucky enough to go backstage and shake David Copperfield's hand and even got a signed
picture. (I only had my phone for pictures)

Too much sun!!!!!

We loved to watch the volleyball games but when we got home Colby and I discovered we definitely should have used sunscreen! We were both burnt in the exact same spot. So we took this silly picture.......

Chris and Mary's Volleyball

On Saturday we went to Cottonwood complex to watch Mary and Chris play in their first volleyball tournament as a team. They did awesome! It was really fun to watch and visit. We had a fun cheering section, throughout the day Val, Mark, Layla, Travis, Hannah, Dave, Hailey, Ethan, Erin, Charly, Nona, Katie, Colby and I were all there to watch and visit.

May 11th......

It's hard to believe Dad would be 63. Every year on Dad's Birthday we try to go to a baseball game, eat hot dogs and visit. We always have a great time! This year we couldn't all be together but still celebrated the same.

Also, it wouldn't be a true Dad's Day without some work and swearing. Nona and I got up early, both lucky to get the day off and began work on are always shabby backyard. Although in the last few years if you saw it from beginning to end there has been a dramatic change (thanks to BVT2 and kids) and we're still workin!
We have lots of crazy over grown pyracantha and rose bushes, we started hacking and trimming but it took quite a while to even make a dent. This is where the swearing comes in......
About eleven or twelve years ago, on a similar project, Dad, Betsy, Katie and I were trimming bushes and a cherry tree. Dad has a shed he built out with electricity and everything. So, before we were allowed to begin work we needed a lesson in how not to cut the electric wiring he had running from the house to the shed. Which Dad started by saying 'be very careful and you have to avoid cutting the wires or you might get shocked', and 'see do it just like this.....'. Suddenly Dad got zapped when he clipped both wires. Then a few swear words later and a look at the clippers that now had a little charred hole in them, we couldn't help but laugh at him and bug him about it the rest of the day. He even thought it was pretty funny.
Anyway, so while Mom and I are working she decided to run inside for drinks and I was still outside with the electric bush trimmer. I suddenly see wires whip passed my face and immediately tangle up in the trimmer. Scared for my life I drop the trimmer, now attached to the wires. Needless to say, being my father's daughter I also said a few words. There was no shock but backing up slowly I look to see where the wires are attached, lo and behold the very wires that used to run electricity to the shed. Luckily for me Dad had clipped them a few years earlier.
