One year down already

It's official we have been married a year! We celebrated by going to get massages at UCMT, it felt awesome!!!!!! We also exchanged gifts, I like the idea of getting gifts according to the traditional anniversary gift list, first anniversary being paper. So I made a scrap book for Colby of all the picture of him as a baby until now that I could round up. Colby secretly and sweetly listened as I mentioned months ago that Van Gogh was my favorite artist and I always wanted a big Starry Night picture. Along with a little help from Mom, he found a huge poster of it and had it framed. I love it!!!!! Also today we went with Mom and Katie and had our anniversary dinner at TGIFriday's, one of our favorites. We had a great time and can't wait for year number two!

The Stache

Colby usually goes with the clean shaven, baby face look or a little scruff. Although while we were chatting the other day I said there was no way he could stand to keep his facial hair, especially grow a mustache in three weeks. So Colby confident he could and I being the betting gal that I am, it started. If I won, a chocolate ice cream cone from Arctic Circle anytime I request and if Colby won a number one from Wienerschnitzel anytime he wanted. As of yesterday it had been three weeks, so he shaved everything but the stache. I guess Colby is the official winner and I have a hot dog run sometime in the near future but it was worth the jokes I got to make all Saturday until he shaved it this afternoon.
Pretty silly but I still think he's quite handsome!

Betsy, Sweet Betsy

I am so lucky to be able to not only know Betsy but to have her as a sister. I always joke with her and tell her it's hard to have her as a sister, seriously though...... it's true. There is no way I could live to be half the person she is. I don't know how someone can be so brilliant, sweet, beautiful, smart and darn near perfect!

She's taught me a lot and has been a really great sister and second mom. It's hard for me to have her to be all the way in Virginia but somehow she makes it seem like she not so far away.I am so proud of her she has done everything in her life with such grace. Her wonderful choice in a husband (I don't know what I'd do if I didn't get to have been as a brother and friend), her brilliance, her beautiful children and her passion for helping people. She truly is one of the people I admire the most! (Bets- it's hard to have a gifted sister)

Something that I think describes Betsy the most is a song that says,
'And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm'

It's truly a blessing to know Betsy
